Is “Akira” Getting A TV Anime Series?

Katsuhiro Otomo, the creator of the iconic 90’s anime film “Akira” was recently present at this years Angoulême, Europe’s second largest comic festival. He was a guest of honor but gave a speech that revealed a tid-bit of interesting news. He mention casually that “Akira” was being “reviewed” for a television adaptation, but little else was spoken.

It’s been a whole two years since the latest reboot from Toei Animation. Sailor Moon Crystal debuted summer of 2014 with the first two season available for world-wide stream on NicoNico. The series ran from July 2014 to July 2015. Then the series took a breather.

Funimation updated their blog today with not one but two awesome announcements! The first announcement was the official launch date for “The Boy And The Beast” movie. Playstation Plus subscribers suffered a whole 12 hours without gameplay January 4,2016. The servers were having issues and it took Sony 12 solid hours to get things up and running. While gamers suffer Sony was losing revenue and reputation.

There are plenty of games you can play without having to subscribe to Sony’s monthly-gaming subscription service. But games like Elder Scrolls Online and DC Universe Online absolutely need a connection. In addition to multi-player games being disconnected, users couldn’t use social features, or update account information.

So if you’re a Playstation-Plus subscriber check your email. Sony made good on  their word with supplying a 1-day free code.
