The new movie plot skips 10 years into the future after the original Death Note dropped into the world. Mishima and Ryuzaki, L’s successor take on six new Death Note holder’s. In addition, a computer virus urges each individual with Death Note’s to take one another on.

The release date for the new live-action is October 29, 2016 .

This isn’t the last you’ll hear of Death Note. Netflix is said to be in negotiation for their own adaptation of the mega-popular anime with Adam Wingard directing. Netflix has stated in the past they are interested in expanding their reach in the anime market. A Netflix-Death Note movie just makes sense. Especially after securing the rights for titles like “Ajin”, “Knights Of Sidonia” and”Magi: Adventures Of Sinbad.”
