Netflix Releases 2nd Godzilla Singular Point Teaser

The last official announcement for Godzilla Singular Point was three months ago. Netflix released the first teaser for “Godzilla Singular Point” in late October. The trailer showed off unique-character designs, some kaiju and a few of the characters. There wasn’t much else you could take-away from a 1-minute clip. Netflix finally delivered more!

Godzilla will soon feature in a live-action, Hollywood produced film this year titled “Godzilla vs. Kong.” Netflix might be eying the opportunity to remind ‘zilla fans they have a new, original Godzilla anime series in the works. This wouldn’t be Netflix’s first project with the Godzilla franchise. In 2018 the streaming gaint licensed and released globally (except Japan) “Godzilla: Planet Of The Monsters.” A full-length, animated film produced by TOHO Animation and Polygon Pictures.

The success of the film prompted two more sequels: Godzilla City On The Edge Of Battle and Godzilla The Planet Eater. Both were released in 2018 by Netflix.

The second trailer isn’t any longer than the first but sure does give you some extra. You can hear a couple of the main-cast voices and Polkadot Stingray’s ending theme song “Blue.” While the video is only a minute long you do get a hint of the plot and style of animation. This certainly looks more drawn compared to Godzilla: Planet Of The Monsters, 3D-CGI. That’s a nice change considering how much CGI is needed to create a movie like Godzilla.

The new Godzilla anime series is produced by Studio Bones and Orange. Both are renown studios with blockbuster portfolios. Godzilla Singular Point is written by Toh EnJoe and directed by Atsushi Takahashi. Netflix has licensed the kaiju-series and is expected to have a global release with the exception of Japan. Tokyo MX will handle the Japanese-broadcast, scheduled April, 2021.

Godzilla is printing money for Hollywood, Netflix and TOHO. If Godzilla Singular proves a hit for Netflix, expect sequels and multiple seasons. 2021 could be the year of the Zilla.
